THE DEVIL’S HOUR

The Devil’s Hour is a new series that tells the story of a woman who wakes up every night at exactly 3.33AM, in the middle of the so-called devil’s hour. Lucy Chambers’ eight-year-old son is withdrawn and emotionless. Her mother speaks to empty chairs. Her house is haunted by the echoes of a life that isn’t her own. Now, when her name is inexplicably connected to a string of brutal murders in the area, the answers that have evaded her all these years will finally come into focus. The Devil’s Hour debuted at Number 1 on Amazon Prime and was commissioned for a further 2 Seasons just three weeks after release. It has been nominated for an International EMMY for Best Drama.

“A sinister evocative thriller” **** - The Independent

"a high profile and genuinely creepy mystery it keeps the audience guessing right til the end, making The Devil’s Hour extremely compulsive viewing." -Den of Geek

“Johnny Allan directs the heck out of the whole endeavour, slowly bringing truths into focus and rapidly colliding sets and locations into each other along the way. Past and present trauma pave the way for future mysteries, forging an intriguing thriller that hops between ideas with disarming confidence – and, for all its unexpected flourishes, leaves you in no surprise that a second and third season have been green-lit.” Vodzilla

“A perfect freaky Halloween treat… essential viewing” - The Guardian ****

"The tension booms through the air right from the opening scenes... Directed by Johnny Allan, The Devil’s Hour is a visually engaging piece of TV on the technical level of blockbuster films, this shouldn’t come as a surprise... What Allan does from the first episode is convey a trance like feeling, hooking the audience, almost forcing us to not understand what is real, and what’s a dream" - Novastream

“The Devil’s Hour weaves its tale of mystery and suspense brilliantly” 9/10 - Nerdly

"The Devil's hour is mindblowing in every sense... Peter Capaldi gives a career highlight performance. But there is another scotsman who should also take a bow. Johnny Allan's direction is close to flawless... in his hands good scripts becomes great, and great actors become explosive" The Crack

“The Devil’s Hour is well-shot and expertly crafted. The acting is top notch too, with Jessica Raine (Patrick Melrose) and Capaldi (Doctor Who and Suicide Squad) grabbing your full attention from the get-go.” - Ready Steady Cut

“An engrossing voyage into the mysterious enigma that is deja-vu… I haven’t quite seen it’s like before” - The Metro ****

“The clockwork precision of the writing finds it perfect foil in Johnny Allan’s emotional and mesmeric direction. The finale is masterful… I haven’t been this effected by a tv show since Laura Palmer’s last scream” - Cinemania

“The Devil’s Hour is a compelling psychological drama, that blends the genres of thriller and horror together almost perfectly. An incredibly talented cast deliver some of the most stunning performances you will see this year, keeping you firmly on the edge of your seat throughout. This feels like a huge win for Prime Video and is absolutely essential viewing this spooky season.” - Game Revolution 9/10
